Spotify allows Premium users to download up to 3,333 songs on up to three total platforms, meaning that you could download a total of 9,999 songs across a computer, a tablet, and a smartphone.

- Instead, you're adding your local music to directories on a desktop machine to Spotify, at which point it will include that content when it displays your collection. Once Spotify is watching these folders, it will automatically make new songs you place into those folders available within the application.
- Two methods are available to import Spotify music to the conveter: Drag&drop songs, playlists or albums you want to download from Spotify app to the interface directly. Or click “ Add Files “, copy&paste the link of the song, album or playlist to the bottom area. And then click “ Add “.
- Tap Download using cellular in your Settings to enable it. You can download playlists, artists, albums, songs, and podcasts saved in Your Spotify Library. After connecting to the internet, go to Songs, playlist, artist, or album which you want to make available offline. At the top of the app screen, toggle Available Offline button to green.
Spotify is compatible with all the iPod classic models, as well as the iPod shuffle and iPod nano. Any iPod that connects via a USB cable connection, rather than the very first model that required a FireWire connection (isn’t there a museum you can donate that to?), will work.
One exception is the iPod touch: You need to download Spotify’s mobile app to listen to local tracks. The instructions in the following section apply only to the classic, nano, and shuffle iPod versions. (Also, the Spotify mobile app is incompatible with the first generation iPod touch — so if you were an early adopter of the world of touch-screen technology, sadly, these instructions don’t work for you, either.)
To sync music from Spotify to your iPod, follow these steps:
- Quit iTunes, if it’s running. You can’t sync if you have both of these applications open because it could cause conflicts.
- Open Spotify.
- Plug your iPod into your computer by using the USB cable, as usual.Your iPod should appear below Devices in your Spotify window’s left sidebar. The first time you connect your iPod to Spotify, you’ll be asked if you want to erase your iPod and sync it with Spotify. In subsequent syncs, you aren’t asked to do this again as long as you continue using Spotify for your syncs.
- Click Erase iPod & Sync with Spotify, if it appears in the Spotify window. After Spotify erases your iPod, two options appear at the top of the page: Sync All Music to This iPod and Manually Choose Playlists to Sync.
- Sync all your music to your iPod.The iPod automatically starts syncing all your music because the Sync All Music to This iPod option is selected by default. Additionally, Spotify syncs your playlists, starred tracks and so on — but only tracks you’ve already bought are actually copied over. You can see how much syncing has completed by viewing the progress bar. It counts down how many tracks are left to sync. Below Devices, you may also notice the spinning arrows next to your iPod, signifying that the sync is in progress. When the arrows stop and turn into an Eject button, the sync is complete.
- Safely remove your iPod after the sync is complete by clicking the Eject button that appears next to your iPod in the Spotify sidebar.Your iPod itself may also display a message warning you not to disconnect. When the iPod is properly ejected, make sure the warning message on the iPod disappears (it may take a few seconds).
- After the warning message is gone, unplug your iPod.
Your refreshed iPod is ready — updated through Spotify and with no intervention from iTunes! The next time you plug in your iPod, it doesn’t take nearly as long for it to detect any changes to your file setup as the original sync did.
Spotify, offering over 50 million tracks, is the King in the music streaming world by the number of subscribers. As of the first quarter of 2020, Spotify had 130 million premium subscribers worldwide. Spotify premium users can stream ad-free and high-quality music offline, but it’s impossible to transfer the downloaded songs to anywhere else. A lot of paid users are confused about this and below we list some frequently asked questions to help you better understand it.
Question 1: I’m a Spotify premium subscriber and I’ve downloaded my Spotify songs for offline listening. How can I locate the downloaded Spotify songs?
To check the location, you can simply open Spotify, go to Settings > Show Advanced Settings > Offline Songs Storage. The default storage location should be set to C:UsersUsernameAppDataLocalSpotifyStorage. You can change it to another location if you’d like to.
Question 2: I’ve found the downloaded Spotify songs. Can I transfer them to my USB for normal playback?
No. Spotify uses an encrypted file extension (Ogg Vorbis) as its streaming format- not an MP3 file. It's a way to prevent from keeping the songs as private files. So you would be able to download and play the songs offline, but only on Spotify; and you cannot play them on other platforms or transfer the Spotify songs to your USB for normal playback.
Question 3: Since I’m unable to directly transfer Spotify songs to my USB drive. Is there any workaround available? The easier, the better!
Definitely! You can use Sidify Music Converter to download music from Spotify to your computer and then transfer them to your USB. Sidify is a user-friendly program. Even if you are an absolute beginner, you can be familiar with it within seconds.
